So last Wednesday, was the SECOND time that I went to the Greater Detroit Area, since the plandemic, but now I’m beginning to think that it wasn’t such a bad thing being kept out. Let me elaborate.
I should have realized that it was a bad move Wednesday, when they blocked the entrance to the Detroit/Windsor tunnel. Stupid me still managed to get in line. It took me 20 minutes JUST TO GET INTO THE TUNNEL and another 50 minutes to travel the 1 mile across the Detroit River. But that wasn’t all. We started out 5pm. By the time I would get to my first real destination it would be almost 6:30. There was construction EVERYWHERE along I-75. Didn’t they do anything with the roads for the past 3 years ? By the time I picked up a few groceries and other items, it was time to eat. No problem, I thought, but just one small problem. By 8:15 pm almost everything was closed or closing very soon. Arby’s, TACO Bell, and Del Taco was only open for drive thru… just to name a few. Wait a minute. BIG BOY was always open to Midnight… but wait . Even THEY were closing a 9pm !! So we had 20 minutes to get in the door and get served.
WHAT IS GOING ON? Who said that the ,COVID LEGISLATION SCHEME was over? The legislators have completely ruined business. I’m not sure if they can’t get enough help anymore because people are accustomed to getting $ocial $ervices or if some poor souls are genuinely afraid of going in public places because they might get “infected”. Regardless, the legislators have ruined the marketplace.
I have also noticed that some MALLS have 1/3 of the store fronts VACANT.
My nightmare wasn’t over, after we ate. We still had to get home, and with detour after detour we were going in circles for almost 1/2 hour before I could finally find my way back to I-75 south.
Who said that “covid is done”? The historians will be writing about this for centuries to come.
Sincerely
Dan Laskowski
You silly Canadians and our crappy malls. Southland Mall should just be part of Canada.
You gotta use Novi or Troy.
